Frame width

The frame width is the most important factor in how well glasses fit. The most important rule is to check that our eyes are positioned approximately in the centre of the glasses. If the frame is too wide, our eyes will appear too close together. If it is too narrow, the face will appear wider.

When measuring frame size, we consider 3 values: lens width, bridge width, temple length

Narrow frames

If our face is narrow, we look best in frames with a lens width of 42 mm to 50 mm.

Check

Medium-width frames

If our face is of medium width, we should choose a frame in the range of 48 mm to 53 mm.

Check

Wide frames

People with a wider face should look for frames with a width of 52 mm or more.

Check

Bridge width and position

Bridge width is another value that determines how well glasses fit our face. We measure it as the distance between the lenses. For close-set eyes, we should choose glasses with a bridge width of 15 to 18 mm. In other cases, you should opt for wider bridges with a width of 18 to 22 mm. In addition to bridge width, we should also pay attention to its position. A bridge whose edge sits at a similar height to the eyebrow line suits people with a fairly high nose bridge. Lower, curved-nose glasses suit people with a deep-set nose bridge.

Check

Temple length

Temple length is the last important value when measuring glasses. Those who have found that the temples of their glasses are too short should choose a frame with longer temples (145 mm to 170 mm).
